Idjevan’s centre had been planted with huge trees by mid-1990. The
trees on both banks of the River Aghstev made the town more attractive
and charming. Over the past ten years the trees have been uprooted and
replaced by luxurious buildings.

Presently, the trees stretching along the left bank of the
river are being lopped off. The great branches are thrown into the
river to remove the trace. Moreover, the Town Hall has permitted
erecting structures on the right bank, right among the trees.
Supposedly, the trees will be felled in the course of time.
