Great short.

Armen Filadelfiatsi's picture

Timely and straight to the heart of the matter: Money.

It is genuinely better than the other shorts, and it has nothing to do with the creator's being Armenian.

Actually you are right, your

Vartan Esenyan's picture

Actually you are right, your votes should reflect the talent
not national origin. We should reward art and artists but
since we do not have so many Armenian talens in the spotlight
when it happens then we should make an effort to spread the word as many people as possible to promote them and their work
hence the title of my post.
best regards
VE

review of 3 films

Կարեն Կարապետյան's picture

Film 1 - CHARLIE - (by Haik Kocharian) -- Surreal, interesting story. Dark and existential. Very little money spent. Editing - acceptable. Acting - acceptable. Sound - good. Use of light - could be better. Story - good.

Film 2 - CONSTANCE -- I can tell a lot of money was spent on this short. Great cinematorgracy, use of lenses and light. The cinematographer definitely knew what he/she was doing. I'm sure it's gonna get a lot of votes just because of this. Yet, Editing, Acting, Directing and the story-telling - plain bad.

Film 3 - THE CALL -- The story didn't make sense at all. Sound bad, Cinematography leaves something to be desired, Lights - bad. Directing - what directing? In short this one one was the world of them all. Even though there were 3 shots of deserts and dunes that I liked (but that's just me, aesthetically I like deserts and deserted areas).

Of the 3, CHARLIE by HAik Kocharian gets my vote - but not because i was made by an Armenian chap.

Charlie

Shiva's picture

Charlie was dark, disturbing, and in black and white. Right up my alley.

"Charlie" and it definitely deserved to win!
