Armenia will no longer tolerate the tyrannical regime that continues to strengthen its stranglehold on the Republic, abusing the people and their democratic rights. The Presidential election of February 2008 was a defining moment for Armenia; on the one hand it exposed the political leaders who put personal gain ahead of their obligation to those who elected them, and on the other hand it has convinced opposition leaders that in order to prevail in the fight for the rights of the people, it is necessary to form a strong and effective democracy alliance.
The unacceptable events before and after the 19th February election, especially the killings of the 1st March, also spurred the internet community into action, and bloggers have joined traditional news outlets in comprehensive coverage of the events. Internet communities have become the ideal platform for organizations and individuals to enter into the debate and voice their opinions, and now Khosq is online to give the Armenian internet community even greater capabilities, in Armenia and in the Diaspora.
The opposition factions in Armenia are working on setting up a ‘Congress’ to consolidate their capabilities in the fight to change the present intolerable status quo. This 'Armenia Congress’ Group is for those in the internet community who are ready to join the fight, so that together we can help to guide Armenia back toward the path of democracy.
